Offensive contre les FDLR: OCHA avertit

Le Bureau des Nations Unies pour la coordination des affaires humanitaires, OCHA, affirme dans un document qu'une attaque contre les Forces démocratiques pour la libération du Rwanda, les FDLR affecterait des centaines de milliers de personnes dans l'est de la RDC.

L'avertissement intervient après l'approbation par le Conseil de sécurité des Nations Unies de l'offensive contre les FDLR, dont certains membres étaient impliqués dans le génocide de 1994 au Rwanda, et qui ont refusé de désarmer à la date limite fixée au 02 janvier 2015

OCHA a déclaré que le débordement résultant de cette offensive va rapidement submerger les faibles capacités de la RDC, forçant les donateurs internationaux à intervenir.

Une semaine après l'expiration de l'ultimatum lancé aux rebelles hutus rwandais des FDLR pour le désarmement volontaire, aucune attaque n'a encore été lancée contre cette milice qui sévit à l'Est du Congo depuis vingt ans.

Selon Lambert Mende Omalanga, le porte-parole du gouvernement congolais, la date d'un éventuel assaut pour désarmer ces rebelles n'est pas encore définie

Rappelons qu'environ un million de personnes ont été déplacées pendant la dernière grande offensive contre les FDLR en 2009.
