Un pouvoir autoritaire "selon des critères occidentaux". La plupart des médias dans le monde ont dit leur admiration pour ce si dynamique Rwanda fermement dirigé par son "autocrate éclairé" de président. Qui oserait critiquer le chef de ce peuple martyr si lâchement abandonné par tous durant le génocide ?

Aujourd'hui, derrière la façade si propre et si prometteuse, une atmosphère de peur règne sur le Rwanda. Une terreur muette aussi parmi les opposants en exil. Assassinats, emprisonnements, la bienveillance de l'opinion mondiale et des bailleurs de fonds commence à fléchir. Le pillage des ressources du Congo voisin, tout comme les procès en "négation-isme" contre toute critique, sont de moins en moins acceptés. N'empêche, il y a quelques jours, Kizito Mihigo, le chanteur le plus populaire du pays, rescapé du génocide, présent à toutes les cérémonies officielles est soudain arrêté pour "atteinte à la sûreté de l'État" avec de supposés complices...

Un pouvoir autoritaire ? Et alors ?...
