Rwanda: l'ONU s'inquiète du manque de pluralisme politique

Le bilan de la visite au Rwanda de Maïna Kiai est pour le moins mitigé. Le rapporteur spécial de l'ONU sur les droits à la liberté de réunion pacifique et d'association a estimé lors de sa conférence de presse que la société rwandaise n'était pas « pluraliste ». En effet, les autorités découragent, selon le diplomate onusien, les critiques et ne permettent pas aux partis politiques d'exprimer des désaccords.

La route est encore longue. C'est le message qu'a voulu faire passer le rapporteur spécial des Nations unies, à l'issue d'une visite d'une semaine au Rwanda. Maina Kiai a bien reconnu les progrès du pays, notamment en termes de stabilité ou de lutte contre la corruption, mais déploré une absence de pluralisme politique au Rwanda.
