Affaire Habyarimana: le nouveau témoin rwandais disparu

Le nouveau témoin dans l'affaire de l'attentat contre l'avion de l'ex-président rwandais Juvénal Habyarimana - le 6 avril 1994 à la veille du génocide -, a disparu depuis jeudi 13 novembre. Il devait être entendu prochainement par les juges Marc Trévidic et Nathalie Poux. Selon les témoignages recueillis par RFI, Emile Gafirita aurait été enlevé, à Nairobi, au Kenya, devant chez lui peu avant minuit. Il a été intercepté par deux hommes qui l'ont menotté et forcé à entrer dans leur véhicule. Aucune nouvelle depuis. La police kényane assure ne pas avoir procédé à son arrestation et enquête sur cette affaire.
Emmanuel Mughisa s'était installé, il y a deux mois, dans le quartier de Dagoretti, à Nairobi. Un Rwandais « sans histoire, plutôt sympathique et ouvert », selon les habitants des environs. C'est sous ce nom d'emprunt qu'Emile Gafirita était donc connu de gens comme Peter - un Kényan qui habite et travaille à Dagoretti - qui a assisté à son enlèvement.
« J'étais encore en train de travailler quand j'ai entendu des gens crier... Je suis sorti de ma boutique et j'ai vu Emmanuel être tiré par deux hommes. Il était menotté et l'un des types l'a frappé et l'a forcé à monter dans la voiture. Et ils ont immédiatement démarré. Ces gens parlaient une langue que je ne comprenais pas », a-t-il dit à RFI.
La police kényane semble tout aussi perplexe. Selon la porte-parole, Emile Gafirita alias Emmanuel Mughisa n'a pas été arrêté par ses services, ni d'ailleurs un quelconque rwandais ce jour-là. Cependant, son enlèvement leur a été signalé.
Selon son avocat français, Maître François Cantier, Emile Gafirita venait tout juste de recevoir sa convocation quand il a été enlevé jeudi, mais son nom et sa qualité de témoin étaient connus depuis plusieurs semaines de toutes les parties, y compris des personnalités du régime rwandais inculpées dans ce dossier.
